Our Story

Re-Poly3D aims to do one thing, to build a completely circular, zero-waste 3D printing ecosystem where plastic prints are never thrown away, but continuously re-used.

Like many makers, I tried DIY recycling. Using blenders, small food dehydrators, and desktop extrusion kits. But the results were always the same. Weak, brittle filament with EXTREMELY questionable tolerances that can't even be put into a PTFE tube without jamming or breaking.

THE RE-POLY3D VISION

Start with PLA, Scale Up Progressively.

We decided on PLA first since it’s the most used FDM printing material. But we plan to expand and process any popular materials where we can guarantee quality and sustainable production for our community and our planet.

PHASE 1

Recycled PLA

To guarantee quality and stability, we process only pure PLA in its natural recycled colour.

This allows us to focus 100% of our efforts on refining our processes and quality control before moving onto mixing additives and other polymers.

PHASE 2

Colours & Additives

We plan to introduce performance additives, mechanical reinforcers, and colour-doping options to our Recycle My PLA page!

This phase will launch with Black colour-doping, because it cleanly overrides random mixed-color scrap shades without chemical bleaching, allowing it to perfectly supports the newly developed CMYK Full-Spectrum FDM printing techniques.

PHASE 3

PETG or ASA

Since we'd need a new production line to avoid cross contamination between polymers, expanding our facility capabilities into Singapore's next most common structural and weather-resistant polymer lines will come later.

Rather than guessing, we'll survey the local community to decide between PETG or ASA!
